Description: Technician
Computer network technicians
build and maintain computer networks used by business, education, government,
and health-care institutions. Networks linking desktop computers allow
users to send electronic mail (e-mail) and to share data, computer applications,
and Internet connections.
Primary responsibilities
for Technicians include but are not limited to:
- PC Repair
- Hardware
replacement/repair
- Software
support
- Server Repair
- Basic hardware
replacement/repair
- Basic software
support
- Network
support
- Basic troubleshooting
of network hardware and connected devices
- Cable installation
and repair
Required skills include:
- Problem
solving ability
- Basic understanding
of PCs, Networks and associated hardware and software
- Ability
to work under pressure and analyze quickly and efficiently
Desired training and
experience:
- Associates
in Applied Science degree or higher
- Prior working
knowledge of computer networks
- Comptia
A+ PC Repair certification
- Comptia
Network+ certification
- Cisco Certified
Network Associate certification
